Lost one of my master keys the other day bush walking, couldn't find it any where after looking for two and a half hours. Lucky i was pretty close to home, anyway. Cost $280 for a blank from Toyota at trade price, then i had to get it cut. I went to a local locksmith with what i thought was a good reputation and got the key cut. Then i had to book into toyota so they can reprogram the keys (need both sets for this). While i waiting the service guy comes in and says your new wont turn in the door lock or ignition barrell :x . Lovelly, so back to the locksmith, they look at the key and come to the conclusion that the guy that cut the key took too much meat of the key, its now useless. By now i'm  and locksmith is saying to me i will need a new key, I tell them i'm not paying the $280 for a new key, oh ok, any way in the end after some talking they replaced the key, cut it properly (different locksmith this time) and apologised profusely. In the end it took me about five hours of stuffing around.
Conclusion, DON'T LOSE YOUR KEYS :!:
