Removal of side mirror covers

MLC To get a brief idea on the removal of a toyota side miiror, try You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADqv74u0W_o This vid is of the removal of a Camry side mirror but I'm sure the principal is the same. Also love the magnetic tray in this video....

Thanks Craig. My problem is the skin of the side mirror, although I may take the whole thing off to have a good look.

Rob, line up a tree. That will do it

on a serious note if you are not having any luck then you could try and contact Clear View Towing Mirrors and see if they have the fitting instructions to suit their mirrors that you can get a copy of. They sell replacement mirrors to suit the 120 so should have the details. I suspect that you need to remove the mirror which I would assume would mean pulling the door trim off (not 100%) and then unbolting the cover from the mirror housing.

If the door trim does need to be removed then:

Thanks Nick, the reason I want to know is I have ordered some "bling bling" side mirrors with the 150 series type indicators.

Have your "bling bling" side mirrors arrived yet MLC? and did you get the good oil on how to remove the skin of the mirror?

They arrived and have both blue and yellow/orange LED indicators. Threw an absolute spastic on eBay and with Paypal because the yellow/orange does not work. Was prepared to leave it at that and then got a reply that they will send another set with ALL yellow/orange indicators! Surprised the hell out of me tbh. As they come from China I will have to wait another month from yesterday. Didn't want to return them as I paid $9.90 for the skins and $30 shipping. Still in shock actually.

When the arrive I will try to fit but not sure it will be an easy job. Will obviously post some pics.
