Have a look at the AC operating tips in the Owners Manual. It advises to operate the AC on FRESH in dusty conditions with the fan ON any speed except off. I have followed this with a 2004 120 and my current 2009 120 and had no significant cabin dust issues. I'm from a pretty dusty part of the world too.

    Cheers
    John

Fitted a new cabbin filter on the weekend using aircon foam from clark rubber the old one was absolutely filthy full of leaves bugs and a massive pile of dirt so hopefully this fixes the problem.
      cheers for the advice

          I reckon its all academic.

My 120 has done a few trips in the red dust. Not by me, but its a bit of give away, as every time I remove a panel or cover or disturb something that hasn't been moved for a while, theres more red dust. Its every where, coating everything. A little moisture and its sticks like shit to a blanket. You will never get it all out.

We run the aircon on fresh if there is no other traffic kicking up dust, but will run on recirculate if in a convoy or traffic. You won't ever keep it all out as every time you open the doors a bit wafts in.

            Cheers Andrew

Second to what AJ stated above, I have lived amongst the red dust and this lovely pindan stuff for a long time now and, although a little dust gets in, I have found the Prado does a pretty good job of keeping most of it out.
