New (almost) D4D in the driveway

Hi Punters, 1st post here, many more to come

Just returned from a trip where i flew to adelaide to buy a 2nd hand car and drove it back to Perth. 2007 Prado D4D Auto in GXL spec built feb 07.

Extras include bullbar.spotties,CB,dual batteries,blackwidow draws/barrier,waeco50l & slide, towbar.

For those interested in fuel figures. Filled the car to brim in adelaide, put 80lt in at ceduna, crossed the nullabor, Put another 50lt in at Coolgardie, then made it to perth were it took 168 to fill. So all up i did 2899km using 298lt = 10.3lt per 100. Considering i sat on 115-120 with cruise the whole way and ploughed into an extremely strong headwind on the nullabor, I'm impressed. Car is great to drive with heaps of overtaking power...and its so quiet for a diesel.

Car is now due for its 10k service...What is the going rate??

I didnt find it, the missus did & rang the guy, then rang me to tell the news. I never thought i'd buy a car over the net.

I hope the stamp is calculated on SA rates as WA rip us off. Does any one know how it works?

was contemplating waiting for the new specs in september but perth dealers dont need to negotiate much in this boom so decided to go 2nd hand...And the extras were to good to pass up.

Sounds all right to me considering the load of extras.
Can,t help with the stamp duty but a 10,000 km service in Melbourne is about $225. This will vary from dealer to dealer?

Dont quote me but I think you will find that you pay the stamp duty to the state where the vehicle will be registered when you do the vehicle transfer papers. So for you that would be WA

Unfortunately I don't have anything past 100,000km, but it's only a phone call away.
The Diesel's Cam belt is at 150,000 which is a 30,000 service plus cam belt of which I believe is no big deal. 8)
