After Toyota australia originally approved an out of warranty contribution of 50% of the parts value with a 30 day limit (which I missed) they have now refused to honour their original out of warranty offer. No reason given.
I expect that there are a number of folks out there with the same problem. I dont really think the dash is a warrantable component, howver, as Toyota Australia are being unreasonable, I intend to follow this up.
I have advice that if there are 50 ish or more people that have this problem, then we could establish a class action against Toyota for selling a product that is clearly not fit for purpose. Also very concerned from a safety perspective how the failure of the dash might affect airbag operation in event of an impact - this could result in a recall
I would appreciate any comements/advice before taking this further but I beleieve the more of us there are the more chnace we have of getting Toyota to behave reasonably. I currently own 3 Toyotas and have owned one sine 1992 - so very dispointed in this behaviour form Toyota.
