    Chiefy,
I can't help you with the current prices but you certainly are not getting ripped at that price!

At least the wait won't be as long as some if you ordered now :?:

    Cheers,

Keep hunting lower prices - better options

Chiefy, I was just about to sign for a Prado GXL D4D auto - 2008 build&plated Option Pack 2, with the following accessories:

      Headlight protectors
      Bonnet protector, perspex
      Weathershield - Driver + Passenger
      Reverse Parking Sensors
      Roof Racks
      Towbar and electrics
      $58600 on road.

and I received another quote that included the ARB Colour-coded bullbar
      at $58,736 on road.

For the extra $150, it's well worth the ARB bullbar even if I have to fit the heavier springs later.

PM for further details if you wish.
Expected Mid March 2008 - Prado GXL 3.0L D4D 5 Speed Auto, Powder White, Opt Pack 1, ARB Colour-coded Steel Bullbar, Bonnet Protector, Headlight Protectors, Weathershields, roofrack, Colour-coded Spare Wheel Cover, Reverse Park Assist, Roof Rails, 2500kg Tow Bar.

All the other accessories that the wallet wont pay for yet.

Can I assume these quotes are for fleet buyers? Because if they aren't, we have definitely been ripped off. I hope this is not the case, because our dealer is nice and thought we were getting a good deal :?

Hi Lacey - Mine is certainly a Fleet Purchase - I have learnt that if you go through different Fleet reps, they all have "THE BEST DEAL" then another quote turns up from a competitor and you show it to them and they quickly adjust the original quote to match it, and in my case, only tonight, have already bettered the deal even though I got "THE BEST DEAL" quote about 7pm tonight - they must be work-a-holics.

It would be good to know the actual base price to know how much these dealers are actually making.

              Good hunting.

                  Tip

if you want the best price, go to your dealer, get the best price out of him.
now go to the net and find a buyers broker ( don't tell the broker the price you got from the dealer) . They claim to do the shoppping around for you. For the cost of a phone call, they will get back to you within a few hours with the best quote they can get.
The broker should be able to better that price. The brokers claim they use their buying power to drive the deal, just like a fleet company.
I did this, they saved me another $3000. Paid them $175, got the vehicle delivered to my door, and didn't have to waste time visiting many dealers and "talking turkey"

Im not sure about the fleet discount as I have not being dealing with a fleet salesperson. The quote does however state two discounts.

                    1. Salary package discount $2000
                    2. Dealer Discount $4000

What would the fleet discount be on a GXL ??

I got a Bronze fleet discount. That helped me get a few extras and still end up at around the standard pricing. With the demand that is there for them now, I cant imagine to much if any discounting other than fleet, but give it a good go. Still shop around for a good trade, that can make a difference sometimes. I dont think anyone is getting ripped off though.

                      Cheers
