Hi all,
I decided today to swap my wheels around when I made a quite disturbing discovery.
After taking the left rear wheel off I found the metal brake line sitting UNDER the coil of the spring!!!
It was wedged between the lower spring seat and the airbag!
Not really a pleasant surprise :-(
If it would have gone to full compression of the spring I most probably would have damaged the brake line.
It seems like the brake line was pushed up, pushed/pulled forward and then bended under the spring.
I could not find any scratches on the axle or the brake line and all brackets are undamaged.
The only other visible "damage" was that the two closest plastic brackets which were holding the ABS cable were undone.
There was no further damage and I was able to bend the brake line back into position without any harm to the brakeline.
I still have no idea what could have caused it as the brake line is sitting quite protected behind the axles and as mentioned above there are no scratches.
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos (posting this on Pradopoint was an afterthought) but I thought it might be good to idea to let others know that this can happen.
Regards
Michael
