G'day,
Have done my research through the Prado Point threads and cannot find an actual 'fix' to my problem. Since upgrading the tyres and suspension on the prado ive noticed a slight vibration/ bounce through the steering wheel when driving over corrugations and some rough stuff. At first I thought it was an alignment or balance issue but I have had these checked and all is ok. It does not vibrate/ bounce during normal driving conditions on the black top. Past threads have indicated a loose 'c' clip on the steering colum but this setup is only applicable to the models that can tilt and extend the steering wheel. As mine is a standard model it does not have this feature? I have never felt the problem until the new tyres were fitted and have adjusted tyre pressure for each driving condition to see if it can remedy it but find it slightly helps but the vibration remains. The steering wheel tilt lock is in good working order and the steering wheel cannot be physically shaken once set in place. The past posts have indicated that this is a common fault with the standard models and is caused by the bouncing effect from the bigger tyres? If this is the case then no worries but if not then ill have a crack at finding whatever it is if someone out there has had the same problem?
Its more annoying than anything but would like to know if its the cause of something else I should be more concerned about?
Cheers,
