Strange knocking under my dash??? - please see video

Hi, for the past two years i have had a strange tapping noise coming our of the front dash. Finally, last week i managed to work out where its coming from. I have take a video of the cause. Keen to know if anyone could give an idea and fix. Its a 2004 VX Prado

That looks lie the mixing/heater actuator looking from drivers side towards centre console.Not sure about how it is controlled on the vx but on mine it is modified via the heater dial in my 2006 gxl with a cable, hope that helps.

I have the same knocking sound under my dash...
Its just my mini gimp so Im not too worried...
He likes it under there...

Have no idea what it is but that white plastic parts seems to be flopping back and forth, doubt its suppose to be doing that........Mines a GXL not sure it has the same set up on that side. Will have a look later, got sparky here at the moment so cant move my prado, he's parked in front of my garage....Cheers Steve

I have a similar noise on my Grande. I haven't pulled out the panels to have a look. It comes and goes and seems to be related to the climate control system as wes has pointed out.

Hi All, yes, the knocking noise stops when i hold the arm. not sure why the arm feels that its got to shake like that. I am trying to work out its supposed to be attached to something

Hey Steve,I also have a gxl so mine is also controlled by a cable. As mentioned earlier I am not sure how the climate control regulates the mixer..
