  • What is this white plastic part ?

Well thought i would put an LED light on my rear door and run the power off the wiper motor and put a little switch just on the right side panel.
very close to the rear door only 100mm in and 325mm high
Drilled the hole and DOH!!! missed by that much.
Now the switch hits this piece off plastic. I cant open my side panel any more than a couple of inches to have a look without taken the whole draw system out.
So thought one of you guys would know what it is before i drill into it.
I am a little scared to drill there as it looks like a plastic pipe of some sort.
Any help with this would be great
    Over to you guys.

Do you have climate control? I think you will find its part of the rear air conditioner system.

    Cheers Andrew

Have you got rear aircon? If so it's most likley related to that as that is where the unit sits

        Yeah its a Grande
So no drilling into that then.
Will have to find a Smaller switch that does not protrude out the back so much.
        Thanks guys

How about running it up to the roof light? That's what I did. It will come on automatically every time the rear door is open. Then you won't need a switch.

Thought about doing that Amts, But when i took the cover off i could only get at 25mm of wire and my big fat hands had no hope of splicing the wires to join into that.

I put a mini switch for mine in the handle recess in the top or the door, its a really convenient spot for it. have a look here for pictures http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post313413

              Cheers Andrew

Can't remember exactly but I know I didn't tap into the wire but on the metal bits that carry current in the light fitting.

From the interior light, it has a bit of detail in the post I linked to above.

                    Cheers Andrew
