  • what colour is your prado???

Hi All, I've just joined the forum and am currently looking into buying a new Prado. Will be a D4D M6 GXL. Can't decide on colour and was hoping people could post photos of theirs to help the wife decide( I don't worry about colour too much). The Toyota website and brochure don't do the colours much justice and living up the bush there aren't many dealers to check out showroom stock either. Any help appreciated.

    G'day Jason

    Have a look Here

There's 20 odd pages of pics of members rigs ... although most of them are mud coloured

The other good place to look is in the Trip Reports thread ... you'll get a good choice of colours Here ... there was 12 Prados along on this particular trip.

    Cheers

Hey look! it's the battle of the "who's avatar shows their vehicle submerged the most!"

i'm a fan of the charcoal. hides a few more scratches than black but is still nice and dark!!

I'm a huge fan of the white.
You can still see the roof through the muddy water

You can see from Jasjul's avatar ... a white rig would have disappeared.

BTW Mc ... you call that a puddle ??

... and I agree ... the only other colour we considered was the charcoal.

          Cheers

That's my current 80 series crossing Thomson River at Coopers Creek near Walhalla in Vic for those that know it.

The advantage is ... you had a snorkel ... I didn't ops: ops: ops:

Speaking of charcoal ... here's a dark blue one I prepared earlier ...

I want silver, my wife wants white (GXL, not pearl). Silver would have better resale than white methinks.

How many silver Prados do you see? Around 40% would be my guess. Still look good though.

if i can offer one thing, make sure it's metallic paint! I'm a fan of white too but the handbrake's astra is non metallic white and it's impossible to keep shiny and a mongrel to polish! the prado on the other hand, soap, water, and anything you throw at it glides off! (with the exception of mud clumps!)

Wow that thing is a weapon.

Are there any pics floating around of a charcoal Prado with colour coded ARB bull bar?

That weapon is Ando's ... and it made a mockery of muddy Mundaring Powerlines track earlier this year.

I haven't seen a colour coded ARB bar for one ... but Photoshop can achieve most things ...

Ando's a lucky bloke, I think I'm sold on the colour.

I've got photoshop but I don't really know how to use it! ops:

Jasjul, get the white colour if you intend on going bush with it. It hides the scratches really well. The grey metallic only look good when it had a wash and polish.
