Hi,
A few years ago we towed a caravan and since then the tacho has been working intermittently. If it does not work just after starting the engine it won't work unless the engine is turned off and started again. There is no pattern that I can find as to when the tacho will work or not.
About a week ago, my speedo started doing the same thing. You can see the needles moving slightly a kind of "bouncing" when you first start the engine.
I have read on some of the posts that it maybe the interior light fuse or perhaps the brake light fuse. I also read that there is a fuse for the towing kit, does anyone know where that is? I will be checking these on the weekend.
Other than buying a new instrument cluster is there anything else I can do?
I have a 2005 Prado Grande. The towing kit is original Toyota and was fitted at the dealers.
thanks
