I have an '05 GX Auto 1kz and love it. 257,000 and getting better fuel economy now than 5 years ago!!!
the problem with trading it in on another second hander is you might just end up with more troubles than you have now. If the 5k is a definant fix then I would go that way, if you are happy with the rest of "her" then just be resigned to the fact that you will need to spend money at some stage on any vehicle. I have no intention of getting rid of mine, if/when it needs fixing then that's what I will do. It is still cheaper than upgrading and starting all over again with the mod's etc.
