Air compressor, if you plan to go off road it's the first thing you will need.

Decent set of all terrain tyres and a decent air compressor. Thats a bloody good starting point to get your rig and yourself familiar with offroading, then look at a 2 inch lift. Leave the snorkel for when you start to get really adventurous. If your not doing river crossings etc, its as good putting a spoiler on your Mums honda civic

Eject button for the front passenger seat, I still regret not having this done first and now having to submit requests in triplicate for pre approval its will never get through.....Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

Definately not a D4D! Haha lucky mum doesnt have a civic.. ok didnt think of a compressor at all aye.. everyone keeps talking about lift kits and snorkel so i thought thatd be the 1st thing you do.. i already have ATs on the car got them last month. So a compressor then lift kit. Sounds good..thanks for the replies fellas.. midlifecrisis i dont know if that was a dig at my lack of mod knowledge or not but not necessary mate.

If u are going off road, then rated recovery points, two for both the front and the rear should be the first mod!!Dennis

I actually think a dual battery should be very high on the list if you will use a fridge and/or travel without another vehicle.
Followed by appropriate recovery equipment for the travel you will be doing. For me that means a snatch strap and shackles and appropriate rated attachment points.
If you are going onto sand or gravel and dirt roads you will probably need a compressor.
I would add a UHF CB radio and given a choice it would be 5 Watt built in with an antenna.
Until you know what you need the rest is just bling.
If you are inexperienced I would recommend joining a club and get some training and experience and then spend your hard earned appropriately.
I have a 150SX and tow a hard floor offroad camper and I have been through the Flinders ranges, Arkaroola, Oodnadatta track, Dalhousie, Mt Dare, Finke, All through the West MacD ranges on standard tyres and just some helper air bags in the rear springs to stop them standing.
I'll put my flameproof suit on and pull my head in now.
S.155 SX with dual battery and Polyairs in the rear springs..
