    I have one on my list just for the fact that I dont have a ute and have to borrow a trailer when needed.
    Would be handy to have one to be able to whack on longer stuff if needed.

    Also extra storage for camping gear!!
    Actually just got a set in the mail today...leaves the option open for a roof basket for trips.

            120 series D4D with new Baileys injectors and Toyota Alloy Bullbar - no other mods to date.
            Looking for a focus on improving reliability, preventative measures, etc. like catch can, EGR/Intake Clean, dual batteries, diesel pre-filter, exhaust, snorkel, etc, etc. A/T tyres already fitted...
            I will predominantly be a tourer (with Jayco Swan Pop-Top), will be including some gravel, but not rock crawling though.
            Need ideas from you peeps with greater experience/knowledge than I currently have.
            I travel in a Prado 150 SX 3 door with a hard floor camper trailer.

            It is bog standard with a dual battery, UHF CB and Polyair bags in the back springs to stop the sag.

            (I often travel with friends with a Freelander 3 in standard trim towing a Swan. They had to add caravan mirrirs as their only upgrade)

            We have travelled up the Darling, Flinders Ranges, Oodnadatta track, Dalhousie, Mt Dare, Finke, Kings Canyon, the Loop, and around through Glen Helen etc, and then Katherine, Litchfield, Kakadu etc etc etc.

            Don't get sucked in and buy everything now especially as you are just touring.

            Put in the minimum to be comfortable and safe for touring and then spend your money actually getting out and touring.

            Plan carefully and plan to be comfortable and safe and be prepared to turn around if you don't think you or your equipment is up to the task. When you find there is something that you REALLY needed to do then come back and spend your money.

            I don't leave home without the premium cover from the RACV because you you can be sure that what ever goes wrong you wont have forseen or you cant fix anyway.

                      1. Got the plate with 7mm hole... but, yes, EGR clean on the books @ 200k service;
                      2. Already doing 5k oil changes;
                      3. Techstream in my watch list on eBay... just a cable and some software?
                      4. No lift as yet... might go with some Polyair bags at rear to start and look at full suspension upgrade once this lot starts to call it quits.

                      Will look at fitting a HPD catch can at the same time as the EGR clean and plate fitted.

                        Cool,

                        when you said reliability I was thinking of the stock struts breaking at the bottom.
                        But they should be ok if your not hitting corrugations.

                                I would invest in a good dual battery system and a 240v smart charger to keep the batteries happy once a month at home.
