Stamp Duty: $1,355

QLD stamp duty is 3.0% on 4cyl and 3.5% on 6cyl, AND for a new car you pay it on the LIST PRICE of the car, not what you actually pay for the car.

For example, the current Prado GXL V6 Auto is $51,990 for the end of year sale (read "marketing ploy"). The standard list price for the car is $57,790, so no matter what you pay for the car ($51,990 or even less when you haggle), you still pay stamps on the $57,790 (plus options and extras).

Drive away $49k
Free floor mats.
Took all of my bargaining power.
Picked up in mid March.

08 GX has crome grill & mirrors & steering wheel controls
So the poverty pack is pretty flash.

I have a GX AUTO D4D due in August with tow bar and option pack 2 for $55k drive away.

Seemed reasonable.
I am putting on an ARB winch bar and a installing a Polaris unit and dont like the look of the roof rails, making the wheels pretty expensive at the best price I could find for a GXL at the time.

I believe that the standard price for Option Pack 2 is $6000? So it seems as though you've saved a bit of money if the $55000 includes all on road costs.

That is drive away. I just shopped around. I am Novation leasing it and asked the local dealer to match the price the lease company came up with.

Have been told that i will take delivery in the first week of September. Now the hard bit - what suspension, compressor and tyres do I want?
