  • What monitor etc? Scangauge, techstream etc etc etc

So I have finally succumbed to the bug and been doing mods again like they're going out of style.

Now I HAVE to get (insert the final result of what the learnered people on this site recommend) for my 120.
This is especially in light of the ATF cooler addition (thanks again Tin) => saw what the red stuff was supposed to look like, but then also saw the brown/black fluid which was in my system.
Plus also just had the injectors replaced (thanks again ####) => want to monitor the numbers.

So, scangauge, techstream, engine data scan (the one from 4ws supacentre) or yet another name?
Remembering I am not a mechanic or engine specialist, so at the end of the day, the numbers, lights or electric shocks have to mean something, or the unit is just a dust collector.

Thanks for your thoughts and recommendations.

Techstream is the one to monitor all engine operating parameters including injector feedback values and total fuel volume, etc. Scanguage only shows instant readouts for a selected range of current functions like volts, fuel usage, engine temps, etc. I use both: scanguage for continuous feedback and the techstream gets run once per month to check how things are going.

I am the same as Bushbasher.
I now have a Techstream which I intend to use every couple of weeks to monitor my new injectors.
I also have installed a Turbogauge (which is a generic branded version of Scangauge and EDS). This monitors fuel usage, RPM, some Temps and other sensors' information such as MAF, etc.
I found my Turbogauge on Aliexpress.com (Chinese version of fleaBay) for around $90AUD a couple of months ago. It looks extremely similar to the Scangauge (at less than half the price) and identical to the EDS from 4WD Supacentre.

Yes. In theory it supports most 1996 and newer Toyota / Scion / Lexus vehicles with OBD-II / DLC3 diagnostics. - as long as you get the correct cable - from memory you need the 16 Pin Mini-VCI J2354.

          What age is your V6?
