New on Prado

Hi guys, Im from Panama. Recently bought a 07 VX Prado (its automatic, turbo diesel, its supponsed to be a 1KZ engine I guess) and I would like to know waht do you recommend as for maintenance, I mean, wich oil, automatic trans fluid, diferential fluid, etc.

Well, I did a full oil change with 5w-40 full syntetic, transfer and both differentials fluid change (75w80 rear and 80w90 front and transfer), full brake fluid change, change both front shock absorbers. Diesel, air and oil filter new.

Are you sure it has the old diesel? Big difference in maintenance regimes between the two. Post up a pic of the engine bay.

Well, went to the dealer, they verified and its 1KZ-TE.

I have a new issue: P1222, (not with the dealer) I need to change the Throttle Assy (complete) due to throttle motor failure, the car is in emergency, cant go more than 3000rpm. Mechanics says its very difficult to this to fail, but I cant find anybody that can verify some other causes. Dealer dont have it, cost about 300 USD and takes about 15 days.

Theres must be somethinf I should verify before buy it?

Problem resolved

Were burned cables, nobody saw that, or want me to buy it to sell the old one that absolutlly works. I took off the intercooler (and clean it), repair cables that where on motor and thats all, no check engine issues.

Tomorrow I will change timing belt and the 3 other belts, just few days ago oil, oil filter and diesel filter was changed.
