  • My new Baby

Well the day is getting closer, I will be taking delivery of my new Prado next Tuesday. Would have been picking it up this Friday but ARB had some delivery issues with the Snorkel.

I was unable to drive a D4D due to the supply problems but I did manage to wing a 2 minute drive in a sold one. That gave me enough time to really like the ride. My employer just purchased 2 x GX D4D's, so I've borrowed the keys a few times over the past week and clocked up a few kms, what can I say, I certainly made the right choice, very impressed. Will post some pics when I pick her up, now for a name?

I posted a few weeks back under the name of Paj348 (having owned a Pajero) but I've now had to change my name for obvious reasons.

Happy driving, will post with some pictures next week.

Well picked up the D4D last Tuesday, what can I say. So much quieter than my DID Pajero and I'm very impressed with the build qualilty. Nice and smooth to drive, only done 536kms so still taking it nice and easy.

Very happy with the D4D so far, IMO I certainly made the right decision in purchasing the D4D over the new Pajero.

According to the manual you are not supposed to tow until you've done 800kms, is that the general rule or should I leave it a little longer? I'll be towing at 1.5-1.8 tonne poptop caravan.

When I work out how to post pics the I'll put some in.

To quote a Tojo service manager when asked how to drive the Prado during run-in "like you've stolen it, not like your granny!" In other words, plenty of revs and don't labour the motor. Towing probably labours the motor unless you leave it in 3rd.

You petrol lovers are so old skool ... Diesel is so post modern now.

Well done mate, you'll love the Prado. Mine has just come back from Cape York and driven over 3 million corrigations and done some pretty gnarly 4x4ing and didn't break a thing! woohoo!
