Hi
Just had my Prado 40k service done - $530 thank you very much. :shock:
Just read toyota 09 Prado's onwards recieve THERE first 6 services (to 60k) for a fixed price off $250 (service advantage - free)... complete full service as per the service book including all parts.
Lucky lucky them.
Makes me fell like a right bloody tosser paying more than double for the 40k service alone and probadly over $1k for the six services combined.

I thought t was $180.00 per service. At least I hope it is as that's what I signed up for. Don't know of petrol motor is different pricing.

Just had my 30000 kms service done at the Gold Coast at $446 and checked what they were going to charge $762 for the 40000km service, and after questioning price it was dropped to $609.
Still a variance to your cost Stephen 61,
Did you have the service done by the book or was there anything not done.

Would appreciate a breakdown in service costs so I can check with local firm.

$180 per service (D4D) started in 2008 - not sure compliance month from which this applied (Mar/Apr??). Cost has risen to $250 per service for Jan 2009 compliance onwards.

Guys don't get carried away thinking that the service costs have miraculously fallen for later models. The cost of the service will be whatever the time and parts cost is allowed for and always get a quote before hand is my advice. Those who purchased after April 2008 (I think it was April because mine missed out as a Feb 08 delivery) have a deal with fixed priced servicing for a fixed period or 60,000km. The servicing still actually costs the same but is offset upfront by having part of the cost built into the purchase price. If you then take your 4/2008+ Prado to someone else it will still cost $400, $500 etc it is only Toyota that will service for the lower $ figure. This is one way of getting vehicle purchasers to go back to a dealer for service. Rather than compete against lower priced independent service agents Toyota dealers get full tote odds on the services and if the owner goes outside the dealer network then they will be slugged the full real service cost. Remember there really is no free lunch.

My 2009 compliance is fixed at $180 for first 6 services, all part of the contract....

At my Toyota dealer I always push for Fleet pricing on servicing and parts. They are sometimes reluctant to give, but if you are persistant they normally give in

Mine (Jun 08) is on fixed price of $180 for the first 3 years.

Also part of the dealer's 'club' which gives me 10% discount on parts.

Just had mine serviced in January for its 50,000 kms at Toyota. Cost was just under $400.

Mine is May 2008 & is on the $180 servicing. As mine is a lease car I don't actually see the money disappearing but still like to check the docket to see what was supposedly done at the service.

Our car went in for its 10,000km service today... and my wife was told that it would cost something like $300 dollars. She called me to check and I reminded her of the $180 service guarantee plan that we received as part of our new car package. At first (believe it or not), the service representative dared to question this and even suggested we had been quoted the higher price at time of booking (we had not). Needless to say after a quick lesson about their Service Advantage Plan, we received an apology and obtained our $180 service.

Seeing as this was our first 'official' service with the dealership that sold us the vehicle, it wasn't the best start! :|

I also see from the Toyota website that the service advantage plan costs have risen for 2009 plated vehicles. :?

Just wondering if its just me but what are you getting for your service, i just did the oil filter and plugs for $134 using toyota plugs ryco oil filter and gtx3 oil. took about 1.5 hrs. would that be the $180 dollar service?

3rd month of 2005
5 speed Auto
Petrol

Total Cost = $954.00 INC GST

Starting to wonder wheather i should just do the simple things to bring the cost down, like oil filter and fuel filter,
but then again i did ask if they would still stamp the book if i had done some myself and they said they wouldn't stamp it. :cry:

Had my 80k service done by Toyota only a few weeks back (I did post the info somewhere but can not find it now). They quoted $750.00 but only charged me $630.00 on pick up. Is this one of the instances where a Diesel gets its revenge? :lol:
