What would I expect to pay for a brake controller and an Anderson plug to be fitted? I've just had a quote for $800 :shock: :shock:

What does that include though? Size and quality of parts (wires, plugs, breakers etc)? The gauge of the wiring can made a significant different though it unusual for an auto lekky to go really heavy unless specifically requested. I would have thought $500 to $600 maximum. -

Less than 12 months ago I had fitted at the same time
Dual battery ... 90 amphr with Projecta Battery Isolator
Electric brake controller wiring ... I supplied the Tekonsha Prodigy
Anderson Plug 50 Amp
7 pin flat trailer plug with heavy gauge wire for van fridge etc power
(fridge works much better with better wiring )
Hayman Reese tow bar
Total cost $1,500

That doesn't sound right. I bought a Tekinsha P3 for about $200... $475 for a HR is a bit of a joke IMHO unless that includes installation. If it does then another $325 to run an anderson plug is an even bigger one. Shop around.Comment

TEKONSHA- P3-PRODIGY is $195 delivered on Ebay.
Sounds like a lot money just for the controller.

Booked the car in at ARB Wangara, $395 for Hayman Reece inc fitting. Anderson was $150 with 50amp cable.

I paid $175 for a Haymen Reece brake controller over Christmas.
