G'day all,
Just got it back from it's first service. They replaced the tailshaft to stop the "thump" and ordered a new dashboard to replace the one that's "lifting". These were two issues I thought we'd be arguing about, but no, it was was grinding problem ( when shifting to RL from neutral ) that they wer'nt acknowledging. That said it shifted fine for them, every time, from neutral or park.
I ended up leaving it with them for a few more hours, to let it cool down, and them had the service guy get in it a try it himself. Guess what ... grinding gears for neutral to LR!
At least I've now got someone from the dealership to acknowledge that there is a problem and that I want it fixed. I've told them that I will be leaving it with them when the replacement dashboard is being fitted, and that I expect the gearbox to be sorted out as well.
I must say that I'm very disappointed with this particular 09 model, as I've had more issues with it in three months, than in six years with the 03 model. With hindsight ( a wonderfull thing ) I whould have been happer, and wealthier, keeping my 03. Regardless that it had 257,000k on it, it never had a problem of any type, and would have done another 250,000k. The only reason in sold it was because the lease had expired and I though I'd have the same experience with a new vehicle. Oh well ... live & learn ... end of winge.
Regards,
Bazza.
