Hi guys, I just bought a Prado 04 3l TDI, after changing all the filters and oils it ran a bit better but It felt a bit gutless on the weeknd with the family driving up Mt Tamborine. I went to a 4wd dyno to get it tested and here are the results. Is this normal ?? Thanks

Re: Prado on Dyno
Maybe you should look at getting a badge fitted like you see on the back of HSV commodores 307kw
badge 49kw
it would look impressive!New 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list
Previously a 2004 120s 1KZ GX silver manual with stuff
before that a 1996 RV6 90S with lots of gear

well today i took the rig down to Lee Holmans special vehichle service for a run on the dyno..and a tweak or 2..
i was amazed at the difference from standard....
kw at the wheels...88kw...(thats with the stt's).....
torque ...520 N.M
motive force.....4977.5 N
running at 14.7 p.s.i
my rig standard is only 97kw at the fly wheel.....and torque is 370 .n.m
so as the stats say a massive increase in power.....
and it feels better 2..
we adjusted the chip and the fuel to air mix is better...
well i am happy as...
joeyhad an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

Re: Prado on Dyno
You're a little down on power, but it depends on a lot of varibles (KM, Condition, dyno and operator... etc etc)
I'd expect mid to high 50kw range at all four wheels for a stocker.
Here's a sheet for a 1kz, auto box, no mods, no snorkel: 57kw peak.

Now with 3BAR MAP sensor & 18PSI Boost!

Re: Prado on Dyno
that will be at all 4 wheels not at the fly wheels all these motors come with 97kw at the fly
ive got a 04 prado as well and its not the fastest on the road after having a 200kw atw wrx  : and that was a beast
i will put my prado on the dyno in the next week or two and see what i get its only got a uni fillter04 grande, bilstein A712 &A713 kings spring , 3 inch exhaust chip it chip, XGT lightforce, 1 x lightbar, Sov Bar, Tigerz11 Grande winch with rope, Oricom UHF.

Re: Prado on Dyno
Just curious MickL, what gear was the dyno run it? It looks like maybe 2nd? If so do you know if a test be done in 3rd where the gearbox will lockup & do you know if that will make much difference to the graph?
Definitely shows the power drop off with this engine....
