VX- bluetooth and ext aux sound system

My VX finally arrived after a 6 week wait, not the 6 months i was told by 1 dealer.
After studying the brochure and seeing a Grande , i ordered a VX. When my VX arrived i was pleasantly surprised to find the sound system has intergrated bluetooth hands free for the mobile and an external auxillary jack { i.e plug in your iPod }

nowhere in the brochure or the website does it mention these functions,did I miss something, or is this a late inclusion to this model or to all models. Is this a direct counter to Pajero's inclusion of bluetooth?

PS tried the bluetooth tonight, bloody great :lol:

Bernie it must be a late inclusion to keep up with the jones's!
I picked up my gxl the other day and it has it fitted also.I asked the dealer if gx model would also have this feature but they aren't sure.
My car is a JAN 07 build date anyone have an early model with bluetooth?
Don't know if i have it set up correctly because i have to press OK on my phone everytime i get in to vehicle and start it. Does this sound right?
It works very well and you can store 6 speed dial numbers in the radio unit.

The 06 models didnt have it from what I know. You can set your phone to 'always" accept connection from certain bluetooth devices, thats what we use in ours and the phone just connects when we get in.

Wonder if the satnav units have the bluetooth now as well? Be interesting to know, who's got a grande on order

How cool is that, I was talking to the dealer in Geelong on Saturday, about where to put a handsfree kit, but if the deck does bluetooth, time to get a new phone that supports it I reckon! :-)

Just need to get the lease details finalised now... :?

i bought a new bluetooth phone today, to match the prado. you must be doing something wrong as i just step into and out of the car and the bluetooth is there. mines a jan 2007 build

That will only give a line level input I'd reckon... No iPod control through a 3.5 mm connector... :-(

Bernie I have same build date as yours so i will play around with me phone when i remember, phone is a samsung a 701.
I have found that if a/c fan speed is on 3 or 4 it's not as clear up the other end.

It's good to see such useful features now being incorporated as standard.

I have installed a Blueant bluetooth kit and it is fantastic - have had to instal an external speaker under the dash as it could not be incorporated into the stereo speakers (however the mute function works).

Automatic connection is a question of your phone settings, so have a fiddle to tweak that.

Does the bluetooth operate thru the stereo speakers and allow you to control volume thru the stereo? If so, that standard bluetooth feature would be worth its weight in gold.

the phone volume is controled thru the stereo. There is an auto answer feature which you can adjust the the number of rings before it mutes the stereo and answers. The mic is on the front panel of the stereo and the phone sound comes out the stereo spekers
Another feature is set dialling. you can preset 6 numbers to dial . By just pressing one of the 6 buttons normally used for changing the radio stations it will dial a number.

Bernie have you found that you have to speak louder then normal so people can understand you better? A few people have told me that i sound a long way away when talking on hands free.

No. the sound quality is quite good. The mic must be quite sensitive

I got a Dec 06 VX D4D. No Bluetooth or Ipod connection. Missed it by about 4 weeks.

How do I hard wire the iPod in? The radio link accessory is a bit dodgy as it gets static regularly.

I did it the easy way and got a car sound mob to do it for me.

The used a Dension Link and the ipod sits nicely in the little recess above the glove box.

The track names (rather than just "Track 1" etc) display on the satnav screen, when it's in audio mode.

I'm really happy with it.
