hey guys..

just purchased a stock standard 2004 gx turbo diesel prado off the local vet. it all ready has the draw system in the rear and i was after some helpful tips for turning this stock vehicle into something that will handle great on the beach and gravel tracks and also accomodate the family while camping. e.g wheel & tyres, roof annex, maybe a lift kit if needed.

Well done on the latest acquisition.
Sounds as if you are compiling your own Wish List there Mate.
In my opinion the Prado is a very capable vehicle off road in standard trim, but can be greatly enhanced for four wheeling and touring with the addition of a few Accessories and a couple of modifications.
My first purchase would be a quality heavy duty 12 volt air compressor, even with standard tyres traction can be greatly improved by lowering tyre pressures. Therefore the need to re inflate after off roading before hitting the main roads.

welcome to the forum Lost, and another gx brother :lol: there heaps of threads on here to give you a swag of ways to spend your hard earned, i reckon you cant go past a suspension lift and a decent set of lt rated tyres, these will add better handling on and offroad as well as extra ability. but in saying that do some research into what you will be doing in the future in reguards to your suspension if you decide to fit some, if you want to add a bullbar and winch, dual batteries which all add weight would pay to get suspension suited to carrying a few extra kilos, as i said there is a heap of info on here. cheers samo
