thanks corey
06 GXL 3.0LT TURBO,50 mm ride pro lift, poly bags, arb roof rack with 4x ipf 800xs driving lights, arb awning, gme radio, red arch dual battery with pirhana batt monitor,2x ipf 800xs driving lights on soverign bar, mickey thompson ATZ, kaymar rear wheel spacer, tinted windows, red arch electric brake controller,diffx2 transfer case and gear box breathers just fitted front and rear recovery points.
hey corey, just wondering why you would want to change the intercooler, a bigger intercooler is only going to give you more turbo lag, and they r laggy enough from factory. cheers samo
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
thats ok was asking because l am new to the turbo seen was wondering after a 3 inch exhaust and a chip and kn filter and snorkel was wondering what else can be done to these diesel turbos?????
bonnet scoop to get intercooler more air but what else is there

A petrol V6 maybe .......
I think you are close to the end of the development
basically a bigger exhaust eg new dump pipe and free flowing mufflers will allow the turbo to spool up earlier ie with the std exhaust im seeing 12psi boost at 1800 rpm, you should see maximum boost eariler, as also get more driveability ie, at higher revs motor wont be so strangled and will also give you a little more power, a chip will also help with a little more power and torque. cheers samo

If you have a 1kz you can add a shuttle valve style boost controller for a very good bang for you buck improvement.
Changing the intercooler is difficult on the 120 shape (but not impossible), if you have a 1kz then a d4d intercooler can be modified to fit (slightly larger) but after this you are really struggling for room. As far as I know there are no off the shelf solutions/kits.
A water/air unit is probably the only real option for a significant improvement, however there are the cons of: cost, amount of custom fitting work envolved, complexity and the scary thought of what happens if it fails and lets its coolant into the intake

yes very true mick was looking at that water cooled option but like you said it comes with its head aches aswell.
what was the boost thing you said can you only dial up the boost by the chip or can you have an extra system to dial up more boost???

thats what l am looking for that early bang as l have the 1kz with an auto need that on demand power for hill climbing dont want it to kick in hafl way but causing slight traction loss or maybe that is just my driving that needs improving lol

perhaps a piggy back ECU such as autronic of powerfc (not sure if they make these for prados). Dyno tune it to get most out of your exhaust...once you have that perhaps a bigger turbo? Ball bearing turbo for quicker spools? Play and match the exhaust housing with the inlet housing to produce a hybrid turbo...quicker spools, more top power, custom made twin scroll turbo setup? there are lots of possibilities just depends how much $ you wanna spend
Dialling up the boost (in my case, from stock 0.7 bar to 1.0 bar) helped make throttle response better. Matched to a 3 in exhaust system and a DP Chip, it'll make your rig more responsive.
Downside, the power can be addictive. And this may show on your FC figures.
