Well it had to happen. After 30,000km of bushbashing and gravel tracks I've developed one of those annoying squeaks that appears to eminate from somewhere central in the dash. Sounds like it's coming from behind and under the clock or behind the stereo. Barely audible on the bitumen but really noticeable on the dirt. Maybe it's a job for Mr Toyota to fix under warranty.

Re: Dash squeak
I've had one there for years.
Only off road and a plastic on plastic/metal kind of noise.
When I had the center of the dash out to fit the GPS I looked everywhere and tightened all the screws/bolts I could see - no joy - it's still there.
In summer my dash also creaks, groans and makes cracking noises for the first 10 minutes after I turn the AC on.

Re: Dash squeak
I also have a faint squeak.
I think there must be polystyrene in the roof lining and it is rubbing somewhere around the light/sunglasses console.
Pressing around that area tends to make it go away for a while.2009 Charcoal V6 GXL Prado: OEM Tow bar + rear recovery point - PP Front recovery points - Just Straps Recovery Gear - 40L Engel on Waeco slide - RanOx 100Ah AGM portable dual battery system - Rhino 1512 Roof Rack on factory rails - PP spare tyre spacer - DIY Rear drawers - Staun tyre deflators - Hilux washer jets

Re: Dash squeak
My son has been driving mum's Camry for a few months and he just told me about an annoying rattle from underneath the car. Couldn't tell if it was front or rear so he just cranked up the stereo and drove on regardless. I had a look and the front right lower control arm has busted bushes and looks like the arm might have to be replaced.
With the Prado I reckon the noise has been there since the windshield was replaced. Maybe there's some connection?Dave
