Yep, I know it's spec'd at 180l, but of that, how much is useable? The root of the question, I have a Scanguage and unsure whether to set it for 180l, or whether I should be setting it at 170l?

Re: How big is the fuel tank? - ScanGuage question
Agree - most tanks will have 10 or 15 l left in the bottom of them - but I'm not sure if the 180 is 180 useable - or based on 15 per tank, 150l!08 D4D > Build Up here > http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?18458-Ivan-s-2008-D4D-GXL

Re: How big is the fuel tank? - ScanGuage question
I'd suggest that Mr Toyota actually did some mathematics and calculated the actual volume of the tanks. Surely, it would be correct +- a litre or two.
Plus you would have several additional litres contained within the filler pipes, fuel lines, pumps, etc. I always fill mine to the brim, I know it takes a few extra minutes but then I can be sure that I have maximum capacity.Dave

Re: How big is the fuel tank? - ScanGuage question
Hey Nt, Are you saying yours only comes on after 170+ liters? My light comes on at about 150+ liters. That gives me a range of about 300km remaining. I'd be a little concerned if mine came on with only 7 liters remaining.

Re: How big is the fuel tank? - ScanGuage question
I have done a search on this as I do remember it somewhere but nothing shows up. The simple question is "how much fuel is left when the warning light comes on?" Is there general agreement on the 15 l mentioned above? I am trying to use up some older fuel in the sub tank and my light just came on after 1070 city km [V6 VX]. Neil
