Just wanted to let everyone know a little story that may make you go and get a spare key cut for your car. After a drunken ozzie day party at my house my wife woke me up saying where are the keys for my car. After searching the whole house we can not find them anywhere so i call a locksmith to ask how much for a new one as i dont have a spare (wish i wasnt so tight and had one cut earlier) so the locksmith tells me its $1045.00 with 2 new keys one remote one standard  So i ring toyota $2500.00 for them to do it  They change the whole computer and everything so i guess i am heading home this afternoon to pull the house apart and find it or spend a lazy thousand for a bloody key. I hope this stops anyone else going through this expensive exercise. I bet one of the kids has put it somewhere

Re: Costly Lesson Learnt
Add a similar issue with an Audi A5 - although I didn't get so far as to call the dealership...
Drunken night, started raining and everything outside was dumped inside - needless to say that the keys went missing and no amount of searching could find them... Call from my mate the next morning - he'd found them in the shed on the floor (how we missed them the previous night, I'll never know) but i guess we just needed to sober a little and start thinking straight...
I should mention, I wasn't going to be driving it home anyway - that would have been illegal! But would have been nice to know where the keys were before we left... Would have saved an argument with the now wife as well... Ended up on the couch that night because of a missing set of keys!!!
Guess you were at least luckier than me on that one?2014 D4D 150 GXL Automatic - CHARCOAL

Re: Costly Lesson Learnt
We only have the remote with the CL buttons and a grey spare. I can start it with either. Does this mean if I lose the CL one that I am up the creek or can they still program off the grey one?2009 120 V6 Auto. 265/70/17 Goodyear Silent Armours. Bilsteins and Kings Springs.
