  • Centre console Modifications

    Evening all,
Has anyone modified the Cavernous centre console in their Prado :?: As I find I’m always fishing for gear that I chuck in it like my hand held cb and Navman and house keys blah blah blah! I’d be very interested to see some pics or read suggestions on how to fit say an upper tray type of arrangement that you can chuck keys in ect and either take it out to get to the bigger stuff underneath?
    Cheers,

    Matt (WA)

      Hey Chippy,

Putting a tag on the gear lever to help you remember where it is seems like a great idea - I would also suggest tying a piece of string around the correct hand so that you can remember which hand to use to find it!!

It is a US rig. I think the tag has another string on the other corner .. for identifying the correct hand ... that's the one without the Latte

You could try a PM to Ben (Flyndrive) in the US. He's an FJ cruiser owner and active Pradopoint contributor. He may have some ideas on the avilability of these Tundra bits.

Sorry Ben - dobbed you in again

              Cheers

                Mates,

That is the new 2007 Tundra Full size console. It is the same size as a Ford F-series, or Chevy C/K Series P/U's. It may not be a good fit because of the size of the vehicle. Has anyone compared the center console on the Lexus GX470 (same as the Prado).

I can hit a dealership tomorrow and measure the dimensions for you all.

Matt, i have two plastic tupperware containers for 90% of the crap that doesn't get used to often but you like to have on hand, the other 10% goes in front of the containers in the actual console, keeps everything nice and neat and easy to get at.

                      Thanks Guys,
Especially Chippy  and FlyNdrive for the offer to size the Console for me but I'll explore Hutch's Idea and try to get some Tupperware type arrangement working if I can't find anything. I know for a fact that the wife has Cuboards full of the $hite
                      Cheers,

couldn't have been Tuperware if it was no cost or is that just what you were told when she came back from the latest tupperware party?

                            sorry.

As for mods to the centre console. I have my dual battery isolator/connector in there. No electronic gizmos for me. Manual change and join. (coles hersee switch for those in the know)
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.
