I think its been mentioned on the forum before about the legalities of second row seat removal.
Seems like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, if you are only travelling with one passenger.
Good idea and good use of space if you ask me.
Can any one shed some light?

The legality thing is a state by state thing, I know in Queensland you are technically supposed to obtain a modification plate when the seats are removed, and another when they are refitted, etc. I have had the middle row seats out of both my Prado and my old Landcruiser and the boys in blue have said nothing. Insurance also did not care as long as I wasn't carrying any passengers in that area or any seats carrying passengers have been modified in any way. I guess it's one of those things that they just turn a blind eye too.
