Total Chaos replied - RRP is US$636. Here is their email:
Andrew,
Thank you for interest in Total Chaos Fabrication Inc. PT# 96504 retails in the US for $636 for the set. This comes with L and R control arms, 1” Teflon Lined uniballs, Stainless steel hi-misalignment spacers, F-911 hardware, polyurethane bushings and inner sleeves, zerk fittings, and detailed CAD drawings to aid in the installation process (which is pretty straightforward and simple). These control arms fit the 05+ Tacoma Prerunner/4wd, the 03+ 4runner and the 07+ FJ Cruiser here in the states. They should also work on the newest Prado and Hilux. For group buy info please contact either Mike Livingston at Kartek (951-737-2999) (www.kartek.com) They can arrange group buys and give you freight info to Australia. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions that you may have.

Phoned Kartek - they can do them for $589 a pair, any quantity. They are going to get back to me with freight costs.
Phoned Off Road Warehouse in San Diego. They can do them for $600 a pair, or $550 a pair for three sets (Drew, Matthew, Strahan). They quoted $283 freight for one pair and $516 freight for three pairs via UPS. UPS aren't the cheapest that's for sure. The fella was plenty helpful and is going to get back to me with a sharper shipping quote once he speaks to his freight merchant.
So it's looking good, I'm in if I can get them landed for about $750 - Matthew sounds keen. We'll see how the freight prices pan out.
Anyone else interested?
Drew.
2005 Toyota LandCruiser GRJ120R Prado "Pilbara" (GX+) Petrol V6 5 Speed Auto, ARB AirLocker rear diff locker, Safari Snorkel, Bilstein Shocks, OME 2" Lifted Springs, PolyAir airbags, bash plates, Icom HF Transceiver, Uniden UHF CB, HID and LED lights, Black Duck seat covers, Tekonsha Prodigy trailer brake controller, Redarc Dual Battery Controller, ATS4X4 Side Steps/Rock Sliders.
Darren (ATS 4x4) has posted to check out if these are the same as they dont have a Prado in the US. (Lexus?) I think a Tacoma or Tundra is the one these are off?
The ones that they appear to be for is made in the USA and may be different, I would suggest emailing them for a set of diagrams/specs before going to far.

The information I have is that they will suit a Prado, in fact when I spoke to them on the phone yesterday, after I said they were for an overseas vehicle with similar front suspension to the FJ Cruiser, they said, "it's for a Prado right? They are the ones." I think they've kitted out some Prados before.
I might fire off an email for specs but I'm fairly confident they are the right ones.

have you investigated the legality / insurance implications of changing the control arms?
I'd be interested but only if it wasn't going to cause insurance issues.

I guess changing the control arms would be similar to changing the springs, it's an integral part of the suspension and I would probably tell my insurer. As for ADR/rego - I'm willing to wing it, it's not a big deal as long as I'm happy with the build quality of the replacement parts.

dont expect the uniballs to be as long lasting as the ball joints, bring in spare sets of uniballs, and the tools to rebuild them, if your going to attempt to run them here.
