The front was only measuring 500mm beforehand so the lift is fairly pronounced in the pics. Tyres also look smaller too. Obviously an optical illusion.

Theres 42k on the original Grandtreks so they are due for replacement in the next few months. Can step up to 70's now with no concern.

for what they cost (cheaper than most, but not all)
i'm very happy with them.
good choice, and with all the cr@p i have in the front,they still feel strong.
initial sag (as all new springs do) but then consistent.

I read a number of other forums and their opinion of Ironman. Most were giving them very high praise. There was the odd negative but these seemed to be isolated incidents and not actually faults with the components themselves. You get that with anything.

I couldn't go past the $600+ price difference to OME. I ended up spending that on a Blackwolf Turbo tent. Both items will get a full test up at Fraser in a few weeks.

save $ on 1 mod and spend it on another.
that's how it works.
get approved for 1 mod and do 3 with the savings
doesn't get better than that

There were a few options for the money too.

Snorkel
Driving lights
Couplertec (rust prevention)
Dual Battery
Cargo barrier

Damn these 4WDs are expensive

To the guys who have done the Ironman suspension lift, what components did you go for ie medium/heavy springs and gas or foam cell shocks?
How is the ride with your selection?
Would you change anything now that you have tried them?

I have the V6 with lpg so not to sure which way to go.

Any feedback would be great?

i can say that i'm only running the ironman springs with billy's,
due to delays with lovells.
i run the deisel fronts (heavier than the petrol)
and constant load (heavy duty) in the rear.
the ride fom this is awesome. firm but not harsh.
the rears when i was low on fuel and nothing in rear is a little harder,
but not harsh. now i have rear drawers and recovery gear in rear,
it rides really well, both with full fuel and low fuel.
ask samo. he has full ironman, and he is another happy ironman

I went for the medium springs front and back with foam cell shocks on the back. My reasoning for the foam cells was that they didn't cost that much more so I may as well go for the tougher wearing ones.

Ride is far superior to the original Toyota set up, being nice and firm but not harsh at all. You sit much higher but can corner better and with more confidence.

I have not tested it fully loaded yet but heading off to Fraser island tomorrow for a week. I can give you a report on how it goes loaded up with camping gear on the soft sand when I return.
