  • No lift suspension modification

I want to replace the original springs and shocks with heavy duty gear but without raising the height or minimal lift.. Even a 2 inch lift means I have to raise the house. Want to be able to tow comfortable off road across the continent.
Can this be done. If so with what brand of gear. i went to Opposite Loc and they told me it was not possible.

Welcome to the forum, robrob. Use the search function and you will find a wealth of information here. Also, add your location so that specific local advice can be given.

Kings, Lovells, Dobinson and RidePro all do standard height springs, just to name a few. Opposite Lock should know better than that! Also, some Firestone Coil Rite airbags in the rear springs may help level your ride when towing.

Standard height Kings Springs: Front KTFS-101 Rear KTRS-102
Standard height Lovells Springs: Front TFS-118 Rear TRS-119
Standard height Dobinsons Springs: Front C59-134 Rear C59-323
Standard height RidePro Springs: Front ZC7134 Rear ZC7323

As I will be adding a winch cradle(@20kgs) to my sovereign bar followed by a Tigerz11 12000lb winch(@26kgs), I am considering replacing the front coils. I'm wanting to keep the height standardish, 745mm-755mm. At this stage I'm looking at Kings KTFS-101 or Lovells TFS-118, the Kings have a rating of 650 while the lovells are rated at 799. These springs rates appear significantly different on paper, is one linear and the other progressive, I don't think I'm comparing apples with apples here?
Does anyone have any experience with either of these with similar weight set up to what I'm considering?

              The mainstream coils are linear.

suggest you give Kings or whoever a call, I did that when I wanted a specific spring set for another car, I also wanted it kept standard.
They did say it would be standard, but in the end it was up by about 10mm, guess comes from firmer springs.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

Both these coils are shorter than the standard Toyota coils and the Lovells coil is shorter than the Kings, which explains the different rates. You need to compare the free length of coils as well as the rate: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...nsion-Database
Both will give a slight lift over standard, especially when compared to sagged OE springs.

Both springs should also be close to 750mm ride height with a bar and winch.
