  • Fitting Air Bags To the Rear

    Gday guys,

Im looking at fitting air bags to the rear of my 120, I have a 2' lift with medium springs in the rear already.... My questions is do i need to replace these with heavy springs or will the airbags do the job? the suspension is great but sags a little when I'm loaded with gear and the boat hoping the bags will sort this out without having to up rate to heavy and have a rough ride on the tar...

    Cheers for the help

    Rob

Yep you are on the right track, that's absolutely what helper air bags are designed for, a bit of adjustability when you get loaded up.

    Cheers Andrew

Probably I was selecting the URL to copy but it was pasting a URL I copied days ago. NFI why it was happening so had to get of my butt and walk into the office and use the laptop.

Hey guys, Are the rear springs remove to fit air bags or do they slot in between the coils?

They go inside the rear coil. Only the grande has the full airbag in place of the coil....Cheers Steve

You will need to take the springs out and cut down the internal rubber bump stops. Very easy to get the springs out, undo the rear bottom shock mount and jack up the BODY, the spring will fall out when you get the car high enough. You may have to undo the sway bar link as well.

Just fitted a set of Airbags to the rear of my 120. Fairly easy job just need to make a small bracket to hold the valves. I used Airbag Man at Brendale. Excellent service from these guys.
Fitted myself in about 3 hours taking it easy.
