What suspension to get on 120? 35mm or 50mm. Brand?

Hi guys,
Just been looking at some options for new suspension, wow how many are there. Which brand is best suited to 120? I would like some opinions on whats good and whats not.
Are there some brands and companys to stay away from? Just looked at "outback armour" never heard of it but looks quiet good. Can I have some direction on which way to go. Thanks

No authority on this. But.... go to the 120 suspension thread for heaps of info there. What you'll find when researching this though is that no matter what brands you pick, somebody always has a negative story to tell about it. Web forums always attract more negative reports than positive..... because people who've had something bad happen want to vent about it. Stay away from no-name stuff. Never heard of it then forget it. Stick with well known and respected stuff. OME, Lovell, Bilstein etc etc etc. Some cheaper brands are ok.... but I'd only go there after good reports from others. Also depends on what you want to do. Cheaper might be ok for weekenders...... but not for the Gunbarrel. You can pay what you want for suspension, but a 10k setup for me would be stupid. I went Ridepro coils and Bilstein shocks from Autocraft in Melb. Had it fitted by local 4x4 workshop here in Perth. No problem so far.

I have OME. Pretty good ride so far.
Also have a look at the OME website. They have a little calculator thing which tells you what you need depending on how your car is kitted out.

On my third prado now, first two were fitted with ARB OME medium, on the 120 I have TJM gold. While the TJM gold rides well it will need airbags in the rear coils with a load compared to the OME. I think the OME has the edge over the TJM. If I was to go again it would be OME. Havnt had any issues with either in terms of bushes etc. The TJM originally had issues with lower bushes on the front struts chewing out but believe this has been rectified (mine are fine) (also only what I have read not seen for myself). Alot of people seem to like the king springs with bilstein setup ?? I was told to keep well clear of tough dog on the prado, suppose to be better suited to cruisers patrols etc the bigger 4wd's, again only what I have read when I was looking for the 120...I mainly got the TJM at the time as it was $600 cheaper then the OME (big special on).....Cheers Steve

Has anyone used the Maxitrac Nitro kits? are they any good? If not i will get an OME kit.
