I have just successfully been through a process which has allowed me to increase the GVM of my 120 from 2900kg to 3090kg.(+190kg)
It took about 2 weeks from start to finish - I did not have to replace any parts as I already had uprated springs & shocks (TJM heavy duty Gold)
My car did not have to go to Regency and was inspected by the Engineer who issued me a transport SA blue plate!
The figure is derived from the sum of both axle weights. I have no intention of carrying any more weight (with the exception of a rear bar)
but this is to allow me some margin should I get stopped by the roadside. A customer of mine recently had $1200 fine for excessive ballweight.
So weighing of 4x4s does take place!
