  • How do I know its lifted?

This is probably obvious to most, but we just bought a 2nd hand 2003 T.Diesel which has had the original suspension replaced with old man emu nitrochargers. How can we check whether the previous owner also had the vehicle lifted? I guess what for and where should we look?

I s'pose the easiest way would be to have a look at the suspension measurements thread and get an idea of the front and rear height readings for the standard height vehicle and the lifted vehicle. Get a bit of a ballpark figure for each.

    http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=1392

Then go and have a yours with a tape measure and see whether it falls within the range of standard height of lfted vehicles.

    Very roughly ......

Approx 750 mm = standard height
Approx 800 mm = lifted suspension

    Good luck

    Cheers

      Hi toil,

There is an easier way of telling if your car is lifted.

If you open the door and see the world like this you know you definitely have a lift kit fitted.

Sorry Chippy couldnt help myself

          Thanks Chippy.
I have 730mm (front) and 800mm (back), I have an alloy bar, dual battery so it would be standard suspension on the front and lifted??? on the back.

I need to get under the car and double check everything

I would reckon its been lifted ... but with light or medium duty springs in the front ... and with the added bar and battery there's every chance that it has sagged.

Still, if you don't have access to the previous owner ... Matt's idea works well. Take it to a pro. They will be able to tell you quickly and easilly ... and also advise whether the spring rate in the front is too soft for the weight.

              Cheers

Dropped into ARB, guys were great.

King springs (KTRS-102), though the front might be sagging a little
                OME Nitrochargers

The previous owner had Cooper AT 265/65R17's on the rear and 265/70R17's on the front which didn't help things. Replaced the rears with new Wrangler Silent Armour (265/70R17) and while the boots were off had a good poke around to confirm part numbers on the coils and shockers.

                All sweet now.
