  • High Performance Suspension

A local suspension dealership commented on the benefits of fitting high-end shocks to the Prado. He also commented on their $$$, which was roughly $1,000 per corner , plus fitting  . If it wasn't for the high-price, I'd be sold .

    Has anyone had experience with:

    Or other high-end suspension setups?

I also found this interesting... Sway-A-Way RaceRunner Rebuild.

less than 4k fitted for the Fox,

We like them because every part is available as a spare part, and they are quality, not copy of, made to look expensive

            Re: High Performance Suspension

Another thing to keep in mind with alot of these is that alot of U.S guys run custom front bars, not always winches on pre runners either, so buying something that hasnt been specced for our market can see bush and bearing failures, incorrect valving, incorrect spring rates as well.

Desert running in dust with spherical bearings doesnt always equate to mud and water running as successfully.

Being able to service [or chnage] these parts without tols or a vice is always another thing to consider, if the durability is unknown.

Great info Darren, there's always so much more to think about with these things.

Well, it won't be the RaceRunner's this year... the market would need to recover a lot and soon. That ain't goin' to happen, so looking more closely at the alternatives.

              Cheers,

                Re: High Performance Suspension

Without wanting to sound like an ad here,

if we could fin a better set up than what we do now for the average trip/daily driver, we would be using it, its fair to say, not that the Fox kit, or similar isnt good, but it is firmer, and would be ok on a heavy daily driver, but wouldnt be as nice on a more standard weight truck.

Everything is a compromise really, as there is no "perfect" for all situations.
