  • Poly Airbags damaged air pipe

I been a bit slack and should of posted this earlier but here it is now.

Driving to Perth got to Geraldton and I thought the suspension felt a bit funny on the roundabouts.
When we booked into the motel I had a look underneath and found I had burnt a hole the poly airbag line.

Pics not that flash taken on my phone

After driving around trying to find somewhere to get some parts for a repair. ( Saturday afternoon)
No auto shop has the pipe except, in the kit itself but had to buy the whole kit to get it, one place said he would order some for me on Monday.
As we had to continue to Perth first thing in the morning this was not going to help then I thought of Bunnings.....

Picked up the bits bellow, a couple of joiners and some dripper line later, pumped up the air bag and its as good as new.

Sorry no photos of actual fix as I ran out of light.

Have since replaced with new line but fix lasted 4000km without any leaks...

Now carry a couple of joiners and some pipe in with the jack..

I had a similar problem with one of my air bags in my 90s, id lost air to one of them and then pinched it with the spring.

It cost me $165 for one replacement bag, ooch. So I found this stuff to help seal the air leak so it doesnt happen again.

It will seal up to 10,000 psi, and now had plenty of happy motoring since sealing up all the joints using this stuff.

That's why I wanted to put some air back into the air bag before continuing.
