  • 4 inch lift????Anyone???

    Just found this

    http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/p ... ts_id=8174

Could there be any foreseeable problems with installing this lift? It has a diff drob kit so would reduce the chance of worn CVs.

Before the fun police get onto this YES I know it would need a engineers certificate before it beeing deemed legal.

    cheers

    Jonny

One of the forum members, Chase.rawling, has installed this gear I believe and followed this up with 285/70(or 75)R17s:

          Re: 4 inch lift????Anyone???

Looking at the photos in the link (first post) and comparing body lines to wheels i reckon the rear lift would be around 4 inches, but the front doesnt look any different to my 2" lift. The photo above looks higher in the front than the one in the link? or maybe i just need glasses

A couple of rear coils spacers and 40PSI in the air bags and i to could have a 4" lift to.

          Cheers Andrew

Well off topic I know but a couple of years ago I was going to a Parents/Guardians meeting at #1 son's school. The school was just around the corner from work so the idea was to stay a bit later than usual and then drive up to the school. On the way I realised I was a bit peckish so I drove through the local Maccas. Got to the ordering window and perused the offerings. Then told the startled teenager that I couldn't do it and drove out empty handed! Turns out said teenager was the son of a friend (I didn't recognise him in his costume) and he recognised me and told his mum all about it by the time I arrived at the meeting!

                  Re: 4 inch lift????Anyone???

Could always get a 6 inch lift from the US of A for a FJ Cruiser and cut your Crossmembers etc and fit it.

This of course improves your suspension travel over a 3 inches lift by a whopping 0 inches!! Only benefit is you can fit bigger tyres - a modification for "poser" 4x4s.

                    Re: 4 inch lift????Anyone???

Well just devised a lift kit to give me an extra 4 inches of lift, this is ontop of my existing 2 inch lift for a total of 6 inches of lift

Having just removed a wall in the house and placed a 300mm x100mm oregan beam in to support the roof i had 1.5m left, so i decided a set of mini ramps would be a good use for it. I have 1 set of normal ramps but this only lifts one end of the car when underneath, with no ramps its a tight squeeze when using my creepy crawly. With the 4 inch lift though it is now ideal for working under the Prado.

Total cost, zero dollars cause i used a left over piece of timber and i got the original beam for free in the first place total time involved, about 10 minutes work

Diff clearance and ramp over angles are brilliant now

                    Cheers Andrew

                        Hi Andrew
You might want to get your wheels balanced as soon as posible after the new lift kit to increase your tyre life.

                          4" lift

                          Hi,
Just wondering if anyone in the Sydney area has fitted a 4" lift for 120, if so where did u get it fitted?

                          Cheers,
                          Tim

Do a search mate an you'll find info for either the 4" Superior Engineering kit or read Steve's 8608 rig build up thread.

                            Cheers

4 inch lift eh? One way of keeping the missus out of the car I suppose, she's already complaining about climbing over the steel sliders with a 2 inch lift.
