GX wheels on GXL

Does anyone know whether 17x6 steel rims off a 2005 GX will fit a 2007 (update) GXL without rubbing discs, calipers etc? I'm looking at using one for a second spare.

Yes, they'll be fine. Just make sure that you match the overall diameter on both sizes.
265/65R17 = 245/70R17

The GX was released with 225/70R17 tyres in the early models but they are considerably smaller (by 30mm) than the 2 sizes above.

You can also buy genuine 17x7.5" steelies from Toyota for a pretty good price. Then all wheels will be the same width.

ET15 for the 17x6"
ET30 for the 17x7.5"

Unfortunately the 17x7.5" ET30 is not compatible legally on the 150 as it will reduce the track by 10mm. The 150 has an offset of ET25.

No you're not crazy (but I don't know..., your recent post about weird looking lights through your windscreen makes me think you're smoking something About time you gave up that habit.).

I typed ET25, then realised my mistake and edited the post.

Make sure you use the correct wheel nuts. Factory steel rims and factory alloy rims use different wheel nuts.

I just bought 3x 17x7.5 steel wheels for my camper from McIllroy Autos (Toyota Dealer) in Victor Harbor for $136 each, I know it's a long way from Lewiston but I would imagine there would be Toyota dealers out north that would be a similar price.

Alternatively, I also bought a Speedy Grande alloy from Bob Jane for $165 as a second spare for the car, almost an exact match to the genuine Toyota wheels, you just need to use different nuts which are supplied with the wheels.
