      In all fairness... chipping aside,

You can't compare a Cooper ST and a BFG All Terrain for on-road performance...
If I was after road handling over off-road ability I would go the BFG AT's as well.

The cooper ST is OK on road but I wouldn't put it in the same class of tyre as an AT tyre.

Hmmm, after you finish arguing with Mr Cooper, send them down my way and I will pay the freight

There is, look at those little coloured tablets just below member status. You can improve these by clicking on the star at the bottom (leftish) of the post.

If you hover over them, they say stuff like. mlc has an aura, my girlfriend refers to my aura as a bad smell.

spoke to mr cooper today , asked him again is he has come up with a solution , no he says we have told you that it is not covered under waranty , well i said then i give you one last chance to be fair about this tyre issue? he replys what you mean ? well mr cooper i have posted this on a popular forum site and i have had alot of response to this tyre problem and they are 90% leaning my way , oh well we will get a rep to come see you in 2 weeks when he is in cairns !!! what a change in his voice and response after i told him that , so we will have to see what happens, but now i have bf all terains on there and i dont want any coopers again but a full refund! otherwise there is the dep of fair trading and a heap of proof from all of you prado piont users , and people who have had the tyres and problems cant be wrong.

as much as i hate to say it , i don't really fancy your chances of getting you money back under warranty. they are already stonewalling you . and they know that with tyres there are too many variables especially with 30 000 ks on them and your chances with fair trading is going to rely on very vague circumstantial hearsay . they know that, and thats why they are stuffing you around . they are waiting for you to get tyred if you pardon the pun and just fade of into oblivion licking your wounds . the only way to get back at them is to embarrass the shit out of them and damage their business until they want to be rid of you at any cost . hence my last post . but to do that you would have to put the time in and put the tyres back on . for a lot of people its not worth it . it just depends on how pissed off you are. by the way i sought legal advice b4 i plastered that statement down the side of my boat , so that i wasn't defaming anyone, it is a statement and not defamatory . i have since seen other people copy it . i once saw it on the back of a landrover discovery , i was soooo proud .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

prado_1987..... I don't quite see 90%..... however, just be careful of you tactics and comments on a public forum.... unless you are dealing with rock hard facts (not hearsay) you could find yourself at the pointy end of a defamation suite. You wouldn't be the first, and I am certian they have more money than you or me.
There are allot of us on here who have no problem with Coopers....

when i buy somthing i expect quaity and i have morals in life , putting aside legalitys , i will fight this no matter what , i will no back down cause i think people need to stick up for what is right and being ripped of is NOT? i also have proof from a tyre shop in writting that does not sell cooper tyres no more , says in his own words coopers went from a different design cause that have a massive prob with chipping etc , say what you will but coopers have a problem and i will take this further.

Just want to point out ########## that MLC has the older style Cooper ST tyre, not the newer ST Maxx which you have.

I agree - I put coopers st on my old hilux and have now done 10,000km of very easy driving and they have cracks in the treds and some of the treds look ready to fall off. Not real happy with the noise and the wet weather grip either. Cooper will get no more money from me.
I have toyo's on the prado and happy with them for wear, noise and grip.

I have to say my poor Coopers have taken an absolute hiding from day 1, Im terrible with tyre pressures, its also my wifes daily drive so its daily being run into gutters and whatever else she can hit... yep, they have a few cuts, grazes, and lugs missing. Theya have also done 90000km of hell..., Gravel roads, rocks, mud... and i have only had 2 problems, 1 i snapped the valve off while airing them down, the other i had a stick hit the valve. Again as someone above put, maybe im a lucky one.., come tax time i would be putting a another set on except my offroad race patrol is helped out with tyres from Mickey Thompson so will be putting a set of them on it... i just hope they can survive my wife!!

Is that your white 120 parked on Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Rd with the caravan near the school? I drive past every day and think "wonder if they are on Pradopoint?"

Tyre damage can happen to any brand. (Top Pic.) A lug torn from a Cooper ST - this kind of thing happens in rocky/hilly country. Get the tyre on a rock on a steep section and give it too much gas and this is the result.

Similarly the BFG's (bottom pic) aren't immune either. As from the photo above, lugs have also been partially torn from this BFG tyre and there are rips and cracks every where and this was one of the better condition tyres. In my experience the outer lugs on both tyres are particularly vulnerable under certain conditions. Given the cost of putting rubber on our 4by's, most drivers are demanding as ever over how a tyre performs and expect it to work perfectly in all conditions and then provide 80 000 + kays of life. The reality is that no tyre does everything perfectly. Given what a decent AT tyre is capable of these days it's a modern marvel in engineering IMO. Wear the scars with pride!
