I have 60,000km on a set of Cooper ATR's - 265/65/17 and they are still looking quite good. Due for a rotation and will get one more as well so I think they should do about 80,000. The new Dunlop GrandTrek original spare is still on the back which is good condition as has been under a cover since car was new in late 2004.
In somewhere around 5,000km's (approx) time I am planning a trip to Ayers Rock / Alice Springs with some dirt road driving / corrugations etc. with a camper trailer in tow. The trip will be approx 6,000km, starting in South West NSW. The camper trailer is quite new and has a new 265/65/17 (x 3) general grabbers on white sunrasyia rims that are compatable with the Prado, which gives me an additional spare.
Question is, do I set off with the current Cooper's or do I put a new set on before I depart and then put the coopers back on when I return to get the last km's out of them.
I think I will replace full prado set x 5 and head off with new tyres, but I would welcome any views.
