Cooper ST Maxx 265/70 17R vs Queensland

I bought some Cooper ST Maxx for my Prado not realising that they are too big for Queensland. My biggest concern is insurance. I have no doubt the insurance company will use the oversize tyres as reason for any accident no matter how small.
I'm looking for other peoples experiences with this and if any can recommend a insurance company willing to cover.

I am Pretty sure you will find insurance companys will only cover legal modifications. Although how many 4x4s out there are driving around with illegal and or un certified modifications?

Depends on the insurance company I hit a too in my 150 and did some minor panel damage to the front guard, the insurance company didn't even look at the tyres, MT 4rib ATZ's 265/70/17

That would be "roo" and he was a big bugger maybe 5' he was running parallel to the car, I slowed and he ran across the track, hit him with the ARB bar on the front right at about 40kph, he wrapped around the side, hit the guard and door, then the bugger got up and bounced away! The dents were noticable but not bad, cost to repair the guard and door (not replaced) $1900.00, imagine how much if I didn't have the bar and if it would have stopped us as were 200kms north west of Broken Hill on the NSW/SA border.
