Im pretty sure 275/70-17 will fit, i will try them if 285/70 rub.....
it all depends on what tyre there is a lot of variance between manufacturers etc... look up actual heights of that tyre and section width and tread width..... thats what ive done.... now its give it a try.....
I Look forward to seeing how you go mate!
Surely running +10 offset rims would give you a better chance, pretty sure standard prado wheels are +30 aren't they?
Anyway let us know how you go, once I get my lift done I will hopefully get the new wheels and tyres straight after.
    Cheers, Josh

Does anyone know if maxxis 764s 265/70/17 will fit with no rubbing with std suspension? I was quotes a good price on 5 and they're available. Better that $400+ for MT 4 ribs and better than the unspecified " long wait " for bfg ATs.

      The od is 804mm.

I have a GX that I put GXL rims on and new 265/70/17 BFG AT's. These are woking a treat and only rub a little on some crappy bit of plastics that I will cut off. Without the GXL flares it looks pumped!!

Had 265/70/17 maxxis bighorns fitted today. Std suspension and no rubbing on the UCA or wheel well plastic at full lock.

They look badass. A lot more road noise than the Cooper CTSs I took off but that's expected. Just need to space out the spare carrier now.

Anybody interested in 4 <50% worn coopers touring Tyres and an unused 6 year old Dunlop? Lol.

Does the hard spare cover still fit over the 265/70/17's?

So to revive an old question, did anyone have a go with 275/70/R17? Any rubbing on the UCA?
#############, JGill what did you end up going for?
I've got a 2inch lift and considering these for my next set..

                  Hi,
I tried.....285/70 hitting big time. Simply they are too big. You could change the offset but this will just change where they rub. I know there are some ppl with 33's.
In the end I didn't even bother trying 275..... Because its only gonna give 6mm more clearance than a 265/70-17 so i went with what I knew fitted!
                  Bigger tyres = less power
With 265/70 speedo is accurate, with anything bigger vehicle is unroadworthy due to speedo under reading which is not allowed.
                  Simple decision really.
                  Hope that helps.

You have to read that in conjunction with the other requirements in that document; it's not as simple as that.

There are no issues with 275/65R17 or 265/70R17. In terms of diameter, 265/70R17 is bigger than 275/65R17.

Thanks for the feedback #############.. I think as you say it's a simple decision in the end. I'll go with the 265/70's like everyone else.. it'll be nice to have the speedo back in sync to

                                Hi All,

I have 265/70/R17 Cooper AT3's and have only a small problem - When on full left lock, they are rubbing somewhere, as I hear it from the cabin.

Apart from that, No problems. Done 10K in mixed conditions, and they work well
