I don't get on here much I'm more on the Facebook group because this page is full of old complaining men. I'm 19 years old I don't fit in with you prado owners much. But I spent a hell of a lot of Time on my car , I know it inside out, and I like being the one that pushes the limits Because nobody else will

But I'm confident in the front end - I had to be pulled out of thise track all in front wheel drive bouncing around spinning the front wheels on he limiter just to get out. Even if I broke a cv, it's literally a 15 minute trackside change , I carry 2 cv's with me all the time!

I don't care that it's illegal , that's obvious. But when I do a write up it will appeal to the guys that are eager to get the most out of there prado , not just happy with 32" all terrains. What I don't get it that the prado runs so much gear from other Toyota 4x4's that confidently run big tyres and hardcore rigs. Hilix max runs 35" all day every day hasn't needed to do a wheel bearing in 70,000 of daily driving on 35"s. rear diff is Hilux - which is capable of running big tyres, transfer case is a strong unit- same as Hilux which run bug tyres , it's just you guys think it's out of this world because the typical prado owner does a couple of fire trails now and again.

Pushing limits? You're a long way from being a pioneer.

19 years old? Get a shave. Get a haircut and present yourself at the nearest recruitment centre for service in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.

You have much to learn young whipper snapper.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Steady on Beach... I think everyone's criticism of Todds post's in this thread does portray us as an old mans forum (which I probably am or at least getting there) Give the bloke some credit for sharing his Tuff 120 with us all. Yes it's not legal, that's his problem and Todd's aware of that. I wish I'd had the opportunity when I was younger to mod my rig like that! and I'm pleased to see he's getting out on the tracks sticking it up the Nissans! Keep posting here please Todd as I too am interested to hear what works and what doesnt with your mods...

Wow im not much older than you todd as you know. Seriously some of the older members here need to settle down unhook the caravan and have a quite beer. I quite enjoy my news feed on facebook from friday arvos until monday evening watching what todds been doing. Cool he has put 35's on his prado, he also won the arb facebook comp too. Surly some of you old blokes have been and done stupid shit too.

Why are you suggesting he leave?? An who are you to suggest he needs a hair cut and shave, do you want to date him or read about the mods of his Prado??

Seems like a large portion of people on here, not all but a generous amount of you can't see the BFG All terrains, ARB bolt on accessories rear fold down table off the rear door and find it hard to swallow so need to pick at everything that Ghostrider has done.

I'm enjoying the info and pictures so keep them up, of course it's not everyone's cup off tea but we all do different types of wheeling.

I'm all for hearing about his vehicle, what he gets up to in it and how it fairs.

The smart ass comments and name calling can be left out.

P.S. - There is a bit of tongue in cheek in there as well. Lighten up playdoh.

I would expect it would take a fair while for all the negatives and consequences of putting 35's on to come through. I wouldn't expect all his bugs to be ironed our from a couple of trips out. Hopefully he keeps this thread updated with what needs strengthening and upgrading to successfully run 35's.

I'm not sure about you Beach but its the first 120 series I've seen on 35's in this country. I know arctic trucks do it but I'd still call it new ground for around here.

I see you have a few posts but you're still pretty new on this forum mate. It's attitudes like yours that bring a great forum like this down. We are all here to share and learn.

It's definitely an older population to the other forums that I frequent and sometimes it does show a bit. Search for 35's on patrols, cruisers, luxes and wranglers and you'll find heaps of info! Modified Prado's are usually owned guys with families. But its a pity when you see someone get a hard time for doing something that is different just for this model 4x4. Good to see a big poster support someone doing something a bit different. It would be a pity to see someone get turned away because they were modding their truck more aggressively than the general population of the forum. In saying that, my prado will never see 35's.

I'm seeing the best of both sides of the discussion here. Good on you Todd for doing the mods. its your rig, your cash. do what you like. I love seeing someone tackle mods like this. On the other side, you do come across as a know it all and some people just dont like that. hence the reactions you got from some people. You remind me of a mate of mine that has the same mindset as you.
Im just giving advice now. take it or leave it. If someone states a few things, it may be because they have been around the game for a while and have picked up a few tricks here and there. They may only be offering advice and dont mean any disrespect by telling you their thoughts or recommendations. Take it as simply that. Advice. By jumping the gun and having a go because someone offers advice is disrespectful.
Im just saying this because im offering advice. yet like i said, i mean no disrespect so take it or leave it.
Anyways, love the work youve done. keep updating us with pics etc.
                Cheers

There is a couple of 120s running around here with 35s on them. So nope, not a pioneer. One of them belongs to a buddy of mine. He has been running them for three years now I think and continually breaking things. I'm only going from memory here but if I recall correctly.... 3 rear diffs, 2 fronts and 3 transfer cases and one transmission. He links them all to the tyres. He has a ton of other breakages that are not tyre related.

Well there you go. I stand corrected! I'd be interested in what lift and other mods he has done to fit them RanJ. A pic would be great too.

Next time I touch base with him I will.... His currently out the back of Burke doing something with satellite dishes and alien probes at the moment hahaha.... well ok, something to do with satellite dishes anyway. Alien probes is what I give him stick about.

                                Hey Todd,
I've blown a front diff and a fair share of CV's. I'm not having a go at you for the mods you're doing or the resulting breakages, in fact I'm interested and waiting for the details if you eventually write a build up. Like others have said it's your car/cash so do with it what you want.

My only point here is to let people know both sides of the story.

Forums like this provide a fantastic wealth of knowledge. You already know that newcomers will read through these threads and make plans for their rigs based on what they see. Both you and I have done this, and I know many vehicles have been inspired from the information contained in my build up thread.

However, with that popularity comes responsibility. It's misleading to those newcomers if you only report flex photos and claims of how tough the vehicle components are, without reporting the failures. So I hope for their benefit that you report the 2-3 diff failures and (??) CV's failures you've encountered so far.
