Is it really a fifteen minute, trackside job to change CV's or is that a result of the way this vehicle is modified?

Pumping diff oil takes near 10 minutes so you'd have to be employing a few tricks to get it done that fast... such as avoiding the removal of diff oil, inner shaft and bash plates.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Facebook group it is ... No longer will I post here.
I do love sharing everything with everybody and guys on the Facebook group or people on instagram know that haha! I actually like showing everyone what I've broken this weekend , what hektik situation I get in every weekend and all my mods
I have to admit taking criticism from guys that haven't done it to there own car is hard to chew. Fair enough if you've got 35" on the prado than tell me what's gonna happen!
To the bloke about getting my hair cut - i may be 19 but every single mod and repair on my prado in the last 1 1/2 years of owning her has been by me. I'm also a tradesman - and have been working on cars since as young as I can remember . I'm not going to take advice from people that get take there car to a mechanic to get the oil changed !
Aaaannd I think I'm done. Hope to see you guys out on some real tracks with me. Than when I break stuff , you'll know why.2004 Manual Turbo diesel 1KZ-TE , 5" lift , 37x12.5 BF Goodrich KM2

Don't forget that people around here are car enthusiasts just like yourself who also perform mechanical work on their own cars (no doubt at various levels). What one person might lack in technical ability, someone else may lack in communication skills. It's all about respect, have a think about that.
PS - The fourth pic, winching up what looks like a wall.. is that the top of 6 Stager? I was planning to try that track soon but must admit that section gives me second thoughts...glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Now stop with the tanty, update your build thread and post more pictures of stuff you broke and what you did about it....etc....
I'm also curious to see you changing CV joints in fifteen minutes, beside a track. Has anyone filmed you doing this?

It's only 2 bolts , 2 nuts (3 it your swaybar is in) and another 6 wheel nuts.
Method?
What's the big hose clamp for?

Loosen wheel nuts , jack it up , wheel off , pry with the screwdriver/hammer the metal hub cap where the 35mm cv nut is , pull the split pin out of the cv, than that funny crown cap thingo , undo the 35mm , 2x19mm on the bottom ball joint undo them , 19mm for the tie rod end , 17mm for the sway bar link, pull the now disconnected hub assembly away from the cv , cv wil be sitting there , hose clamp around the outer part of cv at the diff , hook on the slide hammer , have the spare cv ready to go in right next to you , couple of hits with the slide hammer the old cv comes out , quickly get it out and chuck the new one in (about 10 seconds should take so hardly any oil lost)
And reverse those steps for doing it all back up. And a quick dab of loctite on everything you've undone.

Those doubts are your own insecurities.
I'm genuinely interested. If the job is that easy, its nice to know I can save some coin and heartache if I get into trouble out in the boonies.

Problem is though buddy, your just backing it up with attitude and touting about being a tradesman at 19 and knowing what your doing... what argument do you think your going to achieve? You probably piss and moan about people complaining about P plater without even knowing you are the stereotypical teenager.
Relax brother, take a chill pill, get the blood out of your undies and cruise!
You don't like what people are saying to you? Then show them the maturity you say you have and ignore them, it's really not rocket science
