  • tyres that fit - No Worries

I just wanted tyres that fit straight on my prado without any problems with speedo, rubbing, or being illegal.

There seems to be disscussions about every other tyre that may fit and I could not find a common list on here that just shows this.

So far, the list of manufacturers and models (if that's the right word) of the tyres that are 265/65/R17 in size with a 112S rating.

There is no particular order and I am not commenting on how good they are ?

I made a quick edit to add an initial quote which you could probably beat and I have included a WWW address

    Kumho http://www.kumho.com.au
    - KL78 All Terrain ~$260

    Eldorado http://www.tyres4u.com.au
    - Trailcutter A/T ~$250-260

    Yokohama http://www.yokohama.com.au
    - Geolander A/T +II GO11 ~$330
    - Geolander A/T-S ~$310

    Bridgestone http://www.bridgestone.com.au
    - D840 ~$3300
    - D694 ~$330

    Continental http://www.tyres4u.com.au
    - CrossContact LX $350+

    Toyo http://www.toyo.com.au
    - Open Country All-Terrain "OPAT" ~$280-340

    Uniroyal http://www.uniroyal.com.au
    - Rallye 4x4 street ~$350+

    GT Radial http://www.tyres4u.com.au
    - Savero AT Plus ~$295
    - Savero HT Plus ~$240

    Pirelle http://www.pirelle.com.au
    - Scorpion ATR ~$295
    - Scorpion STR ~$260

    Michelin http://www.michelin.com.au
    - Latitude Tour HP ~$400

    Dunlop http://www.dunlop.com.au
    - Grandtrek AT3 ~$330
    - Grandtrek AT20 (original tyres) ~$320

    Cooper http://www.coopertires.com.au
    - ATR All Terrain Reinforced ~$340

I also looked at Mickey Thompson, BFGoodrich, Falken, Firestone, Goodyear, Federal, Procomp, Sime (old Simex) and WestLake

NB - The quote price is only a rough quote and can probably be beaten

If anyone knows of any others of the orginal size that fit could you add to the list

Please fill out your location in your profile, it appears you arent in AUS by the tyre brands you have listed?

As for how good and reviews, a lot of the ones listed have existing threads on them already. A Search will bring up heaps of info for your reading enjoyment

    Cheers.

        Hi Team Piggy,

Sorry I just filled in my location, I did try the search function but it wasn't really helpful. It brought up more info on fitting/problems with non-spec tyres than the various options available for the original sized tyres.

I don't know about SA but all these brands are readily available in Sydney without to much effort ?

I thought it might be helpful ?

        Cheers

Brdgestone D694 and Pirelli Scorpion ATR would be the top two road tyres.

Wow, More there than I have come across before.

Eldorado's etc arent easy to find locally (never seen them).

Could be some good info to come out of it.

My picks would be yoko ATS, pirelli ATR, bridgie 694 or the dunlop at3 all would be good alround tyres, if you are mainly on road the pirelli's are extremely quite, the others will have a slight hum.
