Matt how do you rate these against the 694s under similar conditions? Would you have droped the 694s to the same pressure at Stockton? I am due new tyres early next year so these are high on the option list.

Thanks for the review Matt good honest feedback is great. Like mjrandom how do these compare to the 694's that you had before? I currently have 694's (still very new), but always looking for alternatives in the future.

Re: Product review : 265/65x17 BFG AT

Thanks Matt. I have had 70 profile BFG A/Ts in the past (4 sets on different beasts) and was thinking seriously about them for the 120 next year. There have been a few posts here and elsewhere on the web about 'old' design but that doesn't bother me just wanted to know if the 65 profile were as good. My only complaint about the BFGs was that near the end of their life (you knw 65,000 km or so) they got quite hard and you had to be careful on slippery surfaces, still it was a good excuse to get a new set!

Very seriously considering a set of these. Maybe the 265/70's and I'll worry about the yellow sticker later if I ever get one. And the Insurance company agrees. That aside though...

Can anyone offer comment on the BFG AT's vs Cooper ST's or ST-C's. For the life of me I can't decide which way to go. A mate recently had the Coopers ST-C's and BFG's quoted at exactly the same price, although that was for 16inch Landcruiser rims....

          Cheers,
That's good to hear. I have just got a set of these in 265/70/17 and have only done about a 1000kms so far and have found them to be a great tyre. I have found them really good on the black stuff in the wet. Really good on gravel and they went well in a foot of snow going up a steep windy mountain the other day no problems at all. Very happy with them so far.

Its amazing all the good reports these tyres get for such an old design that from a technical point seems to not make any sense at all.

            Maybe old is good :P

15000 km on 265/65 BFG. Fantastic! Just done CSR [18 f/22r psi for 660+ dunes], Tanami, Old Andado, Finke, Oonadatta Track, Flinders and Lake Frome [25 PSI on gravel/gibbers.]-6000+km on dirt including mud sand gibbers and assorted other crap surfaces. No problems with these tyres at all. Had similar experience on BFG on 80 Series- 2 sets and 150000 +. I wont have anything else- they are also quiet on the road and better in the wet than grand craps. I run them at 32-34 psi around town-38 too harsh when car is empty. Neil
